Vernon Previews Summer Farmers Market, Concert Series In Latest Town Video update

VERNON, CT — Residents of Vernoncan look forward to a summer lineup of community events as town officials highlighted upcoming activities in the latest installment of the municipal video series “Rock Solid: Behind the Scenes of Vernon-Rockville.”

In the newest biweekly episode, town officials previewed the upcoming Vernon Farmers Market and the Mayor’s Summer Concert Series, both scheduled to take place at Henry Park.

The Vernon Farmers Market will be staged from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on July 23, July 30, Aug. 6, Aug. 13 and Aug. 20 at Henry Park. Additional information is available on the town’s website at Town of Vernon Farmers Market Page.

The Mayor’s Summer Concert Series will begin July 30 with a performance by the Connecticut Army National Guard 102d Army Band at 6:30 p.m. at the McCoy baseball field in Henry Park. In the event of rain, the concert will move to Rockville High School.

Additional performances scheduled in the series include Cover2Cover on Aug. 6, with a rain date of Aug. 11; Nightshift on Aug. 13, with a rain date of Aug. 18; and Shaded Soul on Aug. 20, with a rain date of Aug. 25.

The town’s biweekly video series, Rock Solid: Behind the Scenes of Vernon-Rockville, is designed to provide residents with information about local government operations and features interviews with department heads and municipal employees.

Vernon is partnering with Burden Media to produce the series.
