Vernon Residents Seeing 'Higher' Sewer Bills — Here's Why

VERNON, CT — Sewer bills that began arriving in Vernon homes last week were considerably higher and there's a good explanation for it — a new billing system.

Previously, the bills were mailed quarterly, but beginning in April 2019, the bills will be twice-a-year, in April and October, hence the greater amount, officials said.

A notice had been sent with the final set of quarterly bills advising residents of the change.
