Vernon-Rockville Makes District 8 Softball Final

VERNON, CT - It's off to the 9/10 Division District 8 Softball Final for Vernon-Rockville.

In the District 8 semifinals on Monday, Vernon-Rockville defeated Somers 10 - 2 in 6 innings.

Caitlin Chatterton had 11 strikeouts to gain the victory for Vernon-Rockville.

Morgan Geisinger (double) and Lexi Real had three hits a piece, Kaylee Coulter and Chloe Keane (double) had two hits, and Lila Ward, Madison Pitkin and Caitlin Chatterton (double) had one hit each.

Brianna Roy, Morgan Geisinger, Madison Pitkin, and Lexi Real made key excellent defensive plays in the field.

For Somers, standout players were Devon Dalessio, Robin Gaskell and Kiana Kalman.

The team plays Windsor in the District 8 Softball Final for the 9/10 Division on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Vernon Center Middle School lower field.
