Vernon Rookie Cop Has 125 Arrests in His First Year on The Job

VERNON, CT — With 125 arrests in his first full year on the job, Officer Cody Flanigan has been named the Vernon Police Department rookie of the year.

The award was handed out Wednesday.

Of the 125 arrests, 48 of them were for drunken driving, police officials said.

One ranking officer said this week he has a "knack" for picking out impaired drivers.

Flanigan is a drone operator for the VPD and also assists with dog unit training.

He is also known for having a "positive relationship with the community," officials said.
