VERNON, CT — Summer is almost over for students in the Vernon public school system and the 2024-25 calendar has been posted.
The first day of school in Vernon is scheduled for Aug. 29. Professional development is slated for the three days prior.
The last day is slated for June 12.

- Sept. 2: Labor Day
- Oct. 14: Columbus and Indigenous Peoples Day
- Nov. 5: Professional development (no school)
- Nov. 14-15: Parent-teacher conferences
- Nov. 28-29: Thanksgiving recess
- Dec. 5-6: Parent-teacher conferences
- Dec. 23-Jan. 1: Winter recess
- Jan. 20: MLK Day
- Feb. 14-18: Winter recess/Presidents Day
- March 13-14: Conferences
- March 17: Professional development (no school)
- April 14-18: Spring break/Good Friday
- May 26: Memorial Day
