Vernon School System's 2020-2021 Calendar Posted

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Board of Education has approved a calender for the 2020-2021 academic year.

The first day of school is scheduled for Aug. 26 and the projected last day is June 9.

Professional development days are slated for Aug. 24 and 25.

Here are some key dates:

• Aug. 26 — First day of school
• Sept. 7 — Labor Day
• Oct. 12 — Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day
• Dec. 24-31 — Holiday Recess
• Jan. 18 — Martin Luther King Day
• Feb. 12-15 — Winter Rcess/Presidents Day
• March 12, 15 — Professional development days
• April 12-16 — Spring Recess
• May 31 — Memorial Day
• June 9 — Projected last day of school
