VERNON, CT — A man suspected of firing several shots early Tuesday morning in the Rockville section of Vernon was arrested after he returned to check out the scene while police investigators were there, according to a police report.

The initial call came from a resident along the 100 block of West Main Street at 12:19 a.m. Tuesday. The resident reported hearing a single gunshot and police were told by the "victim" in the case that 37-year-old Kevin Gebhard had pointed a gun at him, according to an incident report.

Police said they actually located several shell casings at the scene and, during the investigation, saw Gebhard drive by. He was picked up on Elm St. and detained, according to an incident report. Police said they recovered a pair of guns and corresponding ammunition in Gebhard's vehicle.
