Vernon Stabbing Incident Leads to Charges
A man was stabbed in Vernon over the weekend, police said.

VERNON, CT — A weekend stabbing incident has landed a 30-year-old with a first-degree assault charge, Vernon police said.
A warrant was signed Sunday for the arrest of Alexander Garrison, who has no certain address, Vernon police said. The incident took place Friday at 9:42 p.m. at 88 Prospect St., according to a warrant.
Garrison was also charged with evidence tampering for allegedly trying to hide the knife involved in the stabbing, according to a warrant.

One thing was for certain — a man showed up at Rockville General Hospital with multiple stab wounds.
What happened before that was determined only after police sorted out conflicting stories about a fight between Garrison and another man, according to a warrant. Police interviewed both of the combatants and witnesses.

Garrison said he was defending himself from a "rear choke" hold, despite also claiming he was a mixed martial artist.
Another version portrayed a knife fight between the two.
Garrison also claimed he ditched the knife into a wooded area at an adjacent property in a panic. Police later determined the knife was deliberately hidden, according to a warrant.
Police determined that Garrison's statements were "not consistent" with the type of wounds the man suffered. He was stabbed in the upper left back, the shoulder and chest area and on an arm, according to a warrant.
Garrison was held on a $20,000 bond and was to appear in Rockville Superior Court Monday, police said.
