Vernon Teacher Commissioned To First-Ever CT Military History Post
A Vernon teacher is becoming Connecticut's first command historian.

VERNON, CT — A teacher at Vernon Center Middle School has been appointed to a first-ever major military history post in Connecticut.
Last week, Matt Riordan was commissioned as a "captain in the Connecticut State Guard" and will serve as command historian.
He will be attached to Joint Force Headquarters at the State Armory in Hartford and serve with the Connecticut Army National Guard on a variety of upcoming military history projects.

Riordan said will soon be receiving my commission signed by Gov. Ned Lamont the state adjutant general as well as his official orders appointing him to he new position.
