VERNON, CT — A woman is accused of breaking her way into a Vernon apartment with a tire iron to confront a resident about a damaged vehicle, a police report indicates.

The incident took place at 3:50 p.m. on Saturday at the Sleeping Giant complex along the 1200 block of Hartford Turnpike, according to a report.

Tatiana Martinez, 24, whose listed address is in Racine, WI, is accused of forcing her way into the residence with the tire iron and confronting another woman about a car that was damaged in Hartford, according to a report.

The resident's two children had to break up the altercation and they sustained minor injuries along with their mother, a report indicates.

Martinez was charged with third-degree assault, risk of injury to a child, second-degree threatening and carrying a dangerous weapon, according to a report.

She was held over the weekend on a $50,000 bond and was to appear in court Monday, police said.
