Vernon Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

A traffic stop in Vernon turned into drug charges, police said.

VERNON, CT — A New Britain man was arrested on drug charges after Vernon police found crack cocaine and marijuana on him during a traffic stop, according to a report.

The stop took place in the parking lot of the Union Street 7-Eleven after police noticed a suspended registration, according to an arrest report. A passenger, 35-year-old Lemar Tanksley of New Britain, was found with 3.1 grams of crack and 3.5 grams of marijuana, police said.

He was charged with possessing both substances, police said.
