The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. The following message was posted on the town of Vernon website.
Refuse and recycling will not be collected on that day but instead will be collected the following day — Tuesday, May 27 — along with that day's collection.
Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station free of charge year round on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. The Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday, May 25.
