Vernon Undercover Fentanyl Deal Lands Stafford Woman With Charges
An undercover fentanyl deal in Vernon has led to charges against a Stafford woman, police said.

VERNON, CT — A Stafford woman is facing drug-related charges after selling fentanyl to an undercover officer in the parking lot of a Vernon restaurant, according to a warrant.
Heather Bard, 39, was charged with the sale of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance and possession within 1,500 feet of a school or daycare facility, according to an arrest report.
A warrant details a transaction at the Vernon Denny's, located at 35 Talcottville Road in the Tri-City Plaza.

An undercover officer had arranged to meet Bard in the parking lot for a $70 sale on Feb. 5, according to a warrant. Members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force watched from strategic positions and listened in as the wired officer completed the transaction, according to a warrant.
A daycare facility is about 1,250 down Route 83 from where the transaction took place.
