Vernon's Community Pool Opening A Day Early For 2022 Season
The Vernon Parks and Recreation Department's summer aquatics program is set to begin.
VERNON, CT — The Vernon Parks and Recreation Department's summer aquatics program is set to begin Monday, but the Community Pool at 375 Hartford Turnpike is slated to open a day early — on Sunday, June 26.
The thought was to give Vernon families a respite from temperatures forecast to hit 90 degrees Sunday.
Regular aquatics hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The aquatics schedule as of Monday will be:

- Community Pool open Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
- Newhoca Beach (185 Grier Road) open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
Admission to Vernon aquatics facilities is $3 for people 12 and younger and $5 for people 13 and older.
Families trying to keep cool on Saturday can visit the Fox Hill Tower fountain in the playground at Henry Park.
