Vernon's Fourth of July Trash and Recycling Schedule Posted

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Transfer Station and Public Works Department will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

Trash and recycling will not be collected that day, but instead will be collected on Thursday, July 5, along with the regular Thursday collection. If delays occur, residents should keep the bins at the curb, public works officials said.

Excess trash and recycling may be brought to the Vernon Transfer Station free of charge during normal business hours the weekends prior to and following the holiday — Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
