Wanted man Snagged in Vernon After Traffic Stop

VERNON, CT — A wanted man snagged by Vernon police early Wednesday morning also had drugs on him, a report indicates.

A white Honda Civic was stopped by a Vernon officer at 1:13 a.m. on Wednesday near the westbound Interstate-84 Exit 67 on-ramp, according to a report. The operator, 30-year-old Johan Elias Medina, of Vernon, had an active arrest warrant issued by Rockville Superior court for violating a protective order. His bond for the case was set at $50,000, records indicate.

He also had crack cocaine in the car, according to a report, and a controlled substance possession charge was added, carrying a $2,000 bond, police said.

He was to appear in court Wednesday, according to a report.
