Water Main Work Begins In Busy Section Of Vernon

VERNON, CT — West Main Street in Vernon was closed to through traffic Monday as crews began work to install a new water main system for Connecticut Water Company.

The detours stretched from Union Street to Rockville General Hospital's side entrance Monday.

Town officials said the work is expected to last about a month and will involve both full and partial road closures to through traffic. Local access will be maintained at all times, officials said.
