Weekend To Kick Off With Drunken Driving Checkpoint In Vernon
Police will be conducting a DUI checkpoint in Vernon to start the weekend.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police will be conducting a drunken driving checkpoint to begin the weekend.
Vernon police and Metro Traffic Services will have a sobriety checkpoint set up from 6 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday on Hartford Turnpike.
The checkpoint is being funded through a federal Comprehensive DUI Enforcement Program grant that is a regional effort to combat drunk driving through the use of checkpoints and roving patrols.
