The owners of a longtime bakery in Vernon said they were retiring and the business is now on the market.

VERNON, CT — A well-known bakery in Vernon is for sale.
In an impassioned social media post over the weekend, Great Harvest Bread Co. owners Jean and Dale Roberts said they were retiring.
"The bakery is up for sale," they said. "After owning and operating Great Harvest in both Manchester and Vernon for 21 years, it is time for us to hang up our aprons and retire. This has been nothing short of an amazing journey, and we wouldn't have traded it for anything"

They continued, "We are looking for an individual(s) to take over the well-established bakery that has much more room to expand. This is an incredible opportunity for those who are looking to invest in a well-known bakery. The territory for the bakery is quite large, 210 square miles in fact! This makes the opportunity for hub locations very possible."
The bakery was started in Manchester, in 1996, and the Roberts purchased it in 2003.
