VERNON, CT — As it stands, to begin this week, Vernon's projected last day of school, is June 17. That's a bump of four days because of weather-related cancellations, Superintendent of Schools Joseph Macary said.

When the calendar for the 2021-22 academic year was initially approved, the projected final day was June 13, Macary said. It is now June 17 — a Friday — he said.

The date of Rockville High School's graduation will likely be June 16, since Project Graduation officials traditionally prefer to have the all-night post commencement celebration on a Thursday, Macary said.

It all could chance with more bad weather in march, Macary said.

The Vernon Board of Education would need to approve any new calendar dates.
