Would-Be Thief Arrested After Fleeing Store In Vernon
A man was chased down by police after trying to rip off a store in Vernon, authorities said.
VERNON, CT — A would-be thief ran into a state trooper inside the store he was trying to rip off and was then chased down by a Vernon police officer.
The incident took place Tuesday at 10:50 p.m. at the CVS at 143 Talcottville Road.
According to an arrest report, two men, including a 24-year-old homeless man from Vernon, ran from the store after being confronted by the state trooper.

A Vernon officer chased down the 22-year-old and arrested him, police said.
He was charged with criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, along with interfering with police.

He was held on a $25,000 bond and was to appear in court Thursday.
