Writing Workshop at Arts Center East
Writer C. Flanagan Flynn begins next writing workshop session March 28 at Arts Center East.

Fulfill that New Year’s resolution to write your memoir, novel, essays, or short stories. Through in-class prompts and instructor-led discussions, you’ll learn how to heighten reader stakes, create engaging characters, develop a compelling plot and hone your personal voice. You will write stories based on your life experiences (nonfiction), your imagination (fiction), or a combination of both (creative nonfiction). The workshop will also explore the many paths to publishing.
Instructor C. Flanagan Flynn is a writer and editor who holds an M.A.L.S. from Wesleyan University. A Pushcart Prize nominee, she is Managing Editor of the award-winning Brain, Child and Brain, Teen magazines. Over the past decade, she’s participated in dozens of writing conferences at Harvard University, Trinity College, and Mount Holyoke College. She’s edited the work of memoirists, essayists, short story writers, and novelists for nearly two decades. She’s been published in The New York Times Op Ed and featured in The Hartford Courant.
