2 Injured In Serious Motorcycle Accident On Highway In Wallingford: Police

A passenger suffered life-threatening injuries, while the operator had minor injuries, according to state police.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Two men were injured Thursday when their motorcycle had a tire failure on Route 15 and crashed, according to state police.

Both men were taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment, and one of them had life-threatening injuries, state police said.

The accident happened around 4:26 p.m. on Route 15 southbound, south of Exit 58A. According to state police, the motorcycle was traveling southbound on the highway when it “experienced a tire failure,” and capsized onto its left side.

The operator of the Yamaha, a 38-year-old Bridgeport man, suffered minor injuries. The passenger, a 50-year-old Hartford man, sustained “serious, life-threatening injuries,” police said.

The accident is still under investigation.
