3 Juveniles Arrested After Fleeing From Stolen Car: Wallingford Police

The juveniles were operating a vehicle that was stolen out of West Haven and were seen walking behind homes in broad daylight, police said.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Three juveniles were arrested after fleeing from a stolen car Friday afternoon in Wallingford, according to police.

Police responded to the area of Florence Avenue around 2:45 p.m. on March 17 on the report of three males wearing facemasks and dark clothing walking around the area and behind homes, according to Sgt. Stephen Jaques.

Jaques said they arrived in a silver KIA SUV that was confirmed to have been stolen out of West Haven and parked it in the road. The juveniles then fled into nearby woods, according to Jaques.

Before responding to Florence Avenue, Jaques said Wallingford police received numerous complaints of males entering vehicles and tugging on door handles that did not belong to them in the area of Pilgrim Lane and Sullivan Road while operating a silver Kia SUV.

Arriving officers canvassed the area and eventually apprehended the three juveniles after a short foot chase, according to Jaques.

All three juveniles were issued juvenile summons and charged with first-degree larceny of a motor vehicle and interfering with an officer. They were all issued court dates of March 31 at Juvenile Matters in New Haven, according to Jaques.
