3 More Coronavirus Cases Reported At Wallingford Schools

People associated with three schools in Wallingford have tested positive for the coronavirus, officials announced on Sunday.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Public School District reported confirmed cases of the coronavirus with people associated with three different schools on Sunday.

Officials notified families that people associated with the district from Dag Hammarskjold Middle School, James H. Moran Middle School, and Mark T. Sheehan High School have tested positive for the coronavirus.

“In working with the Wallingford Health Department, the cases, at both Dag Hammarskjold Middle School and Mark T. Sheehan High School, were in close contact with one or more people while in a school setting,” officials wrote in a message to parents. “The case at James H. Moran Middle School was determined to not have any close contacts at the school.”

Anyone who was determined to be a close contact at Dag and Sheehan has been notified by officials.

“The Wallingford Public School District and Wallingford Health Department are committed to maintaining a safe environment for students and staff,” officials said. “We continue to proactively monitor illness of students and staff, apply cleaning protocols, and social distancing practices. We will continue to review the circumstances of this case and will make any necessary adjustments in our plans.
