4 Arrested On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop In Wallingford: Police

With the assistance of K-9 Sevro, police said officers seized narcotics, controlled substances, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Four people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop Monday in Wallingford, according to police.

Members of the Wallingford Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit saw what police said appeared to be a narcotics transaction.

The suspects then left the area in a motor vehicle, according to police.

While patrolling near South Curtis Street and Yale Avenue, police said a Wallingford Police K-9 unit identified the suspected vehicle.

“With the assistance of K-9 Sevro, officers conducted an investigation that resulted in the seizure of narcotics, controlled substances, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia from the vehicle and its occupants,” police wrote in a news release.

The driver, identified as 60-year-old Kimberlee Russo of Wallingford, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and sale of a narcotic substance.

A passenger, identified as 28-year-old Elijah Lebron of Wallingford, was found to have a BB handgun that “closely resembled a firearm during an exterior pat-down,” according to police.

Lebron was arrested on charges of carrying a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of cannabis, and possession of a controlled substance.

Two other passengers – a 51-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman, both Wallingford residents – were arrested on charges of possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. They were both released at the scene on a summons.

Russo was released after posting a $2,500 bond with a court date of May 4.

Lebron was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond with a court date of May 5.
