$500K Lottery Prize Sold At Store In Wallingford

The big win came on a scratch ticket, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A winning scratch ticket worth $500,000 was recently sold in Wallingford, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

Lottery officials said a Wallingford woman decided to try her luck and picked up a $500,000 CASHWORD 2nd Edition scratch ticket at Checkers Food Store on North Colony Street in Wallingford.

The ticket turned out to be worth the top prize: $500,000.

“She says she couldn't believe it at first,” lottery officials wrote in an email. “But once it sank in, she called the win a blessing. She plans to use the money to pay off bills and look after her family.”

The CT Lottery no longer publishes winners’ names without their written consent in accordance with a new Connecticut law, which was effective Oct.1, 2025.
