WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Public School District recently announced Anthony Mangiafico, director of adult education, as its Administrator of the Year for the 2025-26 school year.
Mangiafico, who joined the district in 2022, has transformed the Wallingford Adult Education program in “remarkable ways,” according to officials.
“Under his leadership, student enrollment has grown by 79% and the program has expanded to nine sites, including the creation of the state's first workplace literacy program at a local manufacturing facility,” officials wrote in a post on the school district’s Facebook page. “He has secured significant increases in both federal and state grant funding, added critical support staff, introduced innovative programs and created stronger systems of support for adult learners. Dr. Mangiafico leads with clarity, compassion, and a calm presence that builds trust at every level — from the students he serves to the staff he supports and the community partners he has cultivated.
