Spring Into Sports: Where To Sign Up And Play In Wallingford

Local leagues and programs across Wallingford are offering opportunities for all ages to get out and play this season.

WALLINGFORD, CT — With warmer days ahead, it’s a great time to get outside and stay active. Around Wallingford, many local leagues and programs are opening registration for the season. To help you get started, we’ve gathered a few resources where you can find more details and sign up — consider this a starting point as you explore what’s available in the community.

Youth Sports

Families in Wallingford have several options when it comes to youth sports leagues and programs throughout the year.

Wallingford-Yalesville Little League: Open to boys and girls, offering several divisions, including T-Ball, Single-A, Double-A, Triple-A, Majors, Junior and Senior League (Big Diamond), and Challengers for players with special needs. Registration is closed for the spring season, but check back for the fall season.

Girls Little League Softball of Wallingford: Fast-pitch softball league with divisions for girls ages 4 to 16. Registration is closed for the spring season, but check back for the fall season.

Wallingford Girls Softball League: Slow-pitch softball league, the only one in Connecticut, currently celebrating its 50th season. WGSL offers four divisions, for girls from K-12 grades. Registration is closed for the spring season, but check back for the fall season.

Wallingford Cardinals: Travel baseball and softball program that also offers soccer and field hockey.

Wallingford Soccer Club: “Wallingford Soccer Club exists to provide a fun, safe, and competitive environment where children from ages 4 through High School can play and enjoy soccer.”

Wallingford Youth Lacrosse: Girls and boys lacrosse from grades kindergarten to eighth grade.

Wallingford Vikings Football & Cheerleading: Full-contact youth football league for grades 2-8. The cheerleading program is open to cheerleaders ages 5-14.

Adult Leagues & Recreational Sports

Adults looking to stay active can also find opportunities to play and connect through local leagues and recreation programs.

Wallingford Parks & Recreation: Current programs include pickleball, golf clinics, cornhole, and more.
