WALLINGFORD, CT — A Wallingford police officer was honored as Officer of the Year by the American Legion Post 187 on Wednesday, according to police.
“Tonight, Task Force Officer Jeffrey Gervais received the Officer of the Year award from American Legion Post 187 for his dedicated service to the Wallingford Police Department, Connecticut, and the United States while working with the FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “We appreciate Mayor Cervoni and the members of American Legion Post 187 for their kind words and for sharing this special moment with the Wallingford Police Department to honor one of our own!”
