WALLINGFORD, CT — A victim was hospitalized after being assaulted during a graduation party last week in Wallingford, according to police.
Wallingford police and Wallingford Fire/EMS responded around 12:35 a.m. on June 17 to a report of an unconscious male who was assaulted, according to Officer Alex Torres.
Torres said arriving officers saw a male in the driveway of the home lying on his side unconscious.
The male was punched in the face by 18-year-old Adam Harper, who attended a graduation party at the home, according to Torres.
Torres said the victim fell back and his head hit the driveway where he remained until Wallingford Fire/EMS rendered immediate aid and took him to a local hospital.
Harper was arrested and charged with second-degree assault. He was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond and appeared in court on June 17. He was then released on a promise to appear in court on July 21, according to state judicial records.
“Based on the evolving status of the victim’s medical condition, this case will remain active and under investigation,” Torres wrote in a news release.
