Wallingford Fireworks 2026: Parking, Traffic Information Announced

Police announce parking and traffic details for the night of Wallingford's Fireworks Celebration.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford’s annual Fireworks Celebration will take place on Saturday, July 11 near the grounds of Sheehan High School, 142 Hope Hill Road.

The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. There is no rain date for this event.

Parking Information

Public parking will be available at the following locations:

Important: Parking in fire lanes, on sidewalks, or on grass at these locations is strictly prohibited.

Traffic and Parking Restrictions

In accordance with Chapter 216 of the Wallingford Town Code, temporary parking restrictions will be in effect. These restrictions will be clearly posted on affected roadways, including Hope Hill Road and certain nearby side streets.

Vehicles parked in violation of posted restrictions may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

To ensure public safety and traffic flow, thru-traffic on Hope Hill Road will be prohibited once all designated parking lots are full, or at approximately 8:45 p.m., whichever occurs first.

Fireworks Viewing & Safety Information

The fireworks display will be visible from the grounds of all schools where public parking is available. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to allow ample time for parking and to secure a good viewing location.

Traffic Plan Following the Event

As in previous years, a special traffic pattern will be in place to facilitate the smooth exit of vehicles after the fireworks:

Two northbound lanes will be available on Hope Hill Road from the northernmost driveways of Sheehan High School and Moran Middle School to Route 68.

Two southbound lanes will run from the southernmost driveways of Sheehan High School and Moran Middle School to the intersection of Parker Farms Road.

Wallingford Police officers will be on-site to direct traffic and ensure public safety throughout the event.
