Back To School: Wallingford 2026-27 School Calendar

WALLINGFORD, CT — Summer is starting to wind down as the first day of school in Wallingford is quickly approaching.

Students will return to the classroom in Wallingford Public Schools on Thursday, Aug. 27.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change.

Here's a list of dates to know for this school year, according to the 2026-2027 district calendar:

• First day: Aug. 27
• Labor Day, no school: Sept. 7
• Columbus Day, no school: Oct. 12
• Election Day / Staff Professional Development, no school for students: Nov. 3
• Veterans Day, no school: Nov. 11
• Thanksgiving Recess, no school: Nov. 26-27
• Holiday Recess, no school: Dec. 24 – Jan. 1
• Martin Luther King Day, no school: Jan. 18
• Winter Break / Presidents' Day, no school: Feb. 15-16
• Good Friday, no school: March 26
• Spring Break, no school: April 12-16
• Memorial Day, no school: May 31
• Potential Last Student Day: June 9

Note: The first 7 days lost to school closings will be made up at the end of school year. Any days beyond 7 will be made up starting 4/12 through 4/16. In the event of more than 7 days, or a school closure after spring vacation, the BOE determines the last day of school. 182 student days; 186 teacher days. In March, the BOE will determine graduation date.
