WALLINGFORD, CT — The most expensive listing in Wallingford is a home and a business property in one. A Victorian-era house on South Main Street, sold together with a carriage house rented out as offices, tops the town's five priciest homes for sale on Zillow.com.
No. 1 on the list is 116 S. Main St., listed at $1,250,000 after a $49,000 price cut on July 31. The price covers the 1890 main house, with 3,614 square feet, three bedrooms and a wraparound porch, and a carriage house in back with about 2,698 square feet of professional space, now rented as two units. Zillow counts 6,312 square feet in all, with two full bathrooms and four half bathrooms on 0.43 acres. The main house's third floor has a private living area with its own entrance. It has been on Zillow for 103 days.
Two houses are tied for No. 2 at $749,000. 14 Oak St. is a custom ranch built in 2001 and offered for sale for the first time. It has 2,949 square feet, three bedrooms and two full bathrooms on 1.39 acres, plus plenty of detached garage space for a hobbyist. It has been on Zillow for 48 days.
The other, 18 Quigley Road, was cut by $40,000 on Oct. 20. The 1990 house has 3,076 square feet on 1.27 acres, including a 2,244-square-foot main home and a legal two-bedroom accessory apartment of about 832 square feet with its own kitchen, entrance and deck. No. 4 is 101 Thorpe Ave. in East Wallingford, a 1958 house on 1.85 acres with 305 feet of road frontage, listed at $699,900 after a $50,000 price cut on Aug. 19. It has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms in 2,746 square feet, including a finished walk-out lower level, plus a sunken living room with a fireplace and a sunroom. It has been on Zillow for 110 days.
Closing out the top five is another two-building property at 1105 Northrop Road, listed at $649,000 after a $50,000 price cut on Oct. 8. The 1.75 acres, in a mixed-use area with a pond, hold a 1929 house with 2,089 square feet, three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, plus a separate commercial building now rented month to month. It has been on Zillow for 57 days.
