Business Burglarized In Minutes Overnight In Wallingford: Police

Police are investigating after a business was burglarized within a minute in a smash-and-grab burglary overnight in Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A smoke shop was burglarized in a smash-and-grab burglary early Friday morning in Wallingford, according to police.

Police responded around 3:30 a.m. on July 5 to Smoke Rules at 200 Church Street for a burglar alarm. Arriving officers found the front door was smashed, and shattered glass was on the floor, according to police.

Surveillance video showed three suspects wearing black-hooded sweatshirts and masks who smashed the front door and entered at 3:20 a.m., according to police.

Police said one of the suspects, who was wearing gloves, jumped over the counter and took $800 from a cash register drawer. The other two suspects, who weren’t wearing gloves, guarded the front door, according to police.

The three suspects left Smoke Rules through the shattered front door at 3:21 a.m., police said.

The suspects left the scene before police arrived.
