Throughout human history, an unanswered question has perplexed generation after generation: is life only to be found on Earth? The building blocks for life are extremely simple, the only problem is having the right conditions. NASA Solar System Ambassador Geoffrey McLean will discuss the search for extraterrestrial life, our ongoing efforts to find other habitable planets, and the mission to find fellow life forms both within our own solar system and beyond in current and future NASA expeditions.
Weather permitting, Geoffrey will take audience members out into the parking lot after the presentation for a star-gazing session. You will have the chance to observe deep sky objects such as Nebulae, Galaxies, Clusters, and maybe even a couple of meteors! We will be using both a visual telescope and a photographic instrument to view these night sky wonders.
This is a hybrid program; patrons have the option of attending in-person at the library or virtually on Zoom. Registration is required; please sign up using this link.
