Travel back in time to the Woodland Period of central Connecticut (3000-400 years ago), when Indigenous communities practiced a more agricultural way of life. This presentation by the Watershed History Collective will explore the material culture of the Woodland Indigenous peoples, how they used the natural resources around them, how gender roles were divided, and how they hunted and prepared food. You will also gain first-hand insights into their everyday domestic life and a hands-on experience of pelts, tools, containers, and other cultural objects.
This is a hybrid program; patrons have the option of attending in-person at the library or virtually on Zoom. Registration is required - please sign up using this link!
