A GoFundMe account has been launched on behalf of the family.

The community is rallying around a Wallingford family that needs some help.

A GoFundMe account was launched on Wednesday on the behalf of Corey Andrews, his wife Ashley and their children Nico and Harper (all pictured above).

Steven Dylan, who created the GoFundMe page, wrote that Corey suffered a massive heart attack also known as Sudden Cardiac Arrest on Monday.

“The doctors induced hypothermia to let his organs rest,” Dylan wrote. “Right now his body is warming back up, once it is back to normal temperature the doctors will begin testing brain function. This page will be updated with Corey’s progress, but we know there is a long road ahead of us.”

Dylan’s first update came around 6 p.m. on Tuesday when he reported “Good news, Corey is slowly waking up and being weaned off of the sedatives. He is able to move his head when spoken to and trying to open his eyes.”

In addition to that good news, more than $8,000 has been raised since the account was launched.

Dylan wrote that the fund has been set up to “assist with out of pocket medical expenses and living cost with Corey being unable to work.”
