Coupon Books Available For Wallingford Seniors For Resident Disposal Center: What To Know
The Wallingford Public Works Department is selling coupon books for seniors for use at the Resident Disposal/Recycling Center.
WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Public Works Department is selling coupon books for seniors for use at the Resident Disposal/Recycling Center.
Wallingford seniors (65 years and older), and residents under 65 years of age who have been issued a Medicare card, can purchase a $5 permit and receive a coupon book.
Coupons remain valid through early March of each year.

TO GET A PERMIT AND COUPON BOOK:

- Coupon Books can be purchased for the entire season at the Resident Disposal Center. The price of the $5 permit will not be prorated or refunded. Additionally, Coupon Books can be purchased at the Senior Center during the month of April. To apply for this program, an eligible resident should bring:
- CT Driver’s License or CT Identification Card (available at DMV) with a Wallingford address
- a valid Medicare card (if applicable)
- AND vehicle registration* showing a Wallingford address for the vehicle that will be used to deliver trash to the disposal site. *A permit will not be issued for a commercial vehicle.
TO USE THE COUPON BOOK:
- The eligible resident receives 2 coupons/week. Delivery must be done in person only in a permitted vehicle. Coupons are only valid for the resident’s own household trash. One coupon equals a container (plastic bag, paper bag, trash container) of 30-gallon capacity or less (and 40 pounds or less).
- Additional trash may be brought to the Resident Disposal/Recycling Center but the eligible resident will pay the regular rates for trash delivered in excess of 2 bags in any one week or for trash that is not in containers.
PROGRAM RULES:
- Only one coupon book per residence will be issued.
- If an eligible resident owns multiple Wallingford residences, a coupon book will be issued only for the primary residence in which that resident resides.
- Those living in a facility where trash service is provided are not eligible to receive a coupon book.
- All residents are to recycle.
- All residents must follow Resident Disposal/Recycling Center rules.
- Violation of the rules will result in loss of coupon book and possible suspension from the program.
