Driver Crashes Into Apartment Complex In Wallingford: Police
The driver was hospitalized after the crash, according to police.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A driver was hospitalized after crashing into an apartment complex Tuesday night in Wallingford, according to police.
Police responded to 327 South Elm St. around 9 p.m. on the report of a car crashed into a building, according to Lt. Stephen Jaques.
Officers found that a gray 2016 Kia Optima crashed into the front side of the apartment complex and damaged the structure, according to Jaques.

Jaques said the driver of the Kia was taken to the hospital for evaluation of “suspected minor injuries.”
No other injuries were reported as of Tuesday night, according to Jaques.

“The initial investigation determined that the Kia was traveling westbound on Wharton Brook Drive approaching its intersection with South Elm Street when it continued straight across the road and into the apartment complex at 327 South Elm Street,” Jaques wrote in a news release.
Jaques said no arrest was made at the scene and the incident is still being investigated.
“The Wallingford Police Patrol Division and the Wallingford Fire Department handled this incident with assistance from the Wallingford Building Department,” Jaques wrote.
