DUI Driver Arrested On Gun Charges After Crash: Wallingford Police
A vehicle and a telephone pole were significantly damaged in the crash, according to police.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A driver faces several charges, including operating under the influence and criminal possession of a gun, after a crash Friday in Wallingford, according to police.
Officers from the Wallingford Police Department Patrol Division, along with the Crime Suppression Unit, responded to a report of a crash in the 1400 block of Durham Road on March 20, according to Lt. Stephen Jaques.
Jaques said officers saw that a vehicle had crossed the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

Both the vehicle and the pole were significantly damaged in the crash, according to Jaques.
Jaques said the driver, who got out of the vehicle before officers arrived, was identified as 41-year-old Anthony Dingle, the sole occupant of the vehicle.

“During the course of the investigation, officers located personal belongings belonging to Dingle outside the vehicle, along with a loaded revolver,” Jaques wrote in a news release. “Dingle is prohibited from possessing a firearm.”
Dingle was arrested and charged with seven counts of criminal possession of a pistol/revolver and one count each of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, carrying a pistol without a permit, and carrying a dangerous weapon in a motor vehicle.
Dingle was released after posting a $25,000 bond with a court date of March 31.
The incident remains under investigation, according to Jaques.
