Wallingford police had to remove the marijuana from the Meriden man's pants after he allegedly refused to do so during a traffic stop.

Wallingford police had to remove nearly 30 grams of marijuana from a Meriden man’s pants after he allegedly refused to comply with the officer’s request following a pat down during a motor vehicle stop, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
The Record-Journal reports John Michael Ireland, 26, of 69 Liberty Street, Meriden, had been pulled over for driving erratically on Hanover Street on Aug. 28 and was patted down before officers performed a field sobriety test.
Ireland failed the field sobriety test and was arrested, according to the Record-Journal.
