An officer following the vehicle also said the woman threw a bottle of alcohol out of the vehicle and onto the road, according to a report.

WALLINGFORD, CT — East Haven’s Alexarae Apotria, 27, was arrested on DUI charges after Wallingford police say she was driving at nearly three times the legal limit on Wednesday night, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports a Wallingford police officer began following Apotria’s vehicle after seeing it cross the double-yellow lines and its headlights weren’t lit.

The officer then saw a bottle of alcohol thrown from the vehicle and onto the road and Apotria was arrested after failing field sobriety tests, according to the Record-Journal. Apotria told the officer she had come from a bridal shower where she consumed two drinks.
