Flooding Causes One Wallingford School To Close Thursday
One school in Wallingford will be closed on Thursday due to flooding inside the building. Bus delays are expected, according to officials.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Lyman Hall High School will be closed Thursday, Sept. 2 due to water inside the building, officials announced.
Students had already arrived at school by the time the closure was announced. Officials said bus students are being bussed home, which will cause all bus routes on the east side of town to be delayed for an hour or more.
Officials encouraged parents to drop their children off at school, if possible, due to the bus delays.

“We apologize for the late notice this morning regarding the cancellation of school,” Lyman Hall Principal Joseph Corso said in an email to parents. “The excessive amount of rainfall made it challenging for us to open our building to students this morning, and out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to cancel school today.
“Please be assured that the safety of students is at the very center of our decision making, and we appreciate the efforts of staff and the cooperation of students this morning in keeping everyone safe.”
