Home Damaged In Fire In Wallingford

Crews extinguished a fire that was contained to the home's family room, and also battled a fire at the beginning of Saturday's winter storm.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A home sustained major interior damage from smoke and heat during a fire Thursday afternoon in Wallingford, according to fire officials.

Crews responded to the fire on Windswept Hill Road around 2:50 p.m. on Jan. 27 and found heavy fire showing from the rear picture window and through the roof, according to a post on the Wallingford Fire Department’s Facebook page.

The fire was contained to the family room, and one person was home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported, according to officials.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Firefighters also responded to a fire around 2:30 a.m. at the beginning of Saturday’s winter storm.
