Lane Closures Lead To Delays In Wallingford
The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists of a construction project that will lead to lane closures through Oct. 30.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Motorists who encountered heavy delays on Route 68 in Wallingford can expect more of the same for the next week or so. The state Department of Transportation recently announced that nighttime milling and resurfacing will be performed on Route 68 in Wallingford from Oct. 20 through Oct. 30.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing 5.15 miles of Route 68 in Wallingford. The project is being performed by the Eversource Gas Company under an encroachment permit, according to the DOT. Read more from the DOT below:

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 68 Eastbound between Chapel Street and the Durham Town Line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the milling and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the resurfacing.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
