Leaf Collection Details Announced In Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Public Works Department will begin its one-time pickup of bagged leaves (no brush) from Wallingford residences on Monday, Nov. 20.

All bagged leaves must be placed at the curb in paper leaf bags no later than Sunday, Nov. 19, according to town officials.

Residents can use masking tape or painter’s tape to close the bag, however, duct tape is not acceptable.

This is a ONE-TIME pickup of LEAVES ONLY. Brush, trash or garden waste will not be accepted. Residents who miss the pickup can take leaves to the Compost Center (157 John Street) at no charge.

Do not rake leaves into the gutters, per Ordinance #380.

Compost Center hours through Friday, Dec. 1, 2023 are as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Thursday (except closed on Thanksgiving Day): 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Compost Center hours from Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023 through Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 are as follows:

Monday, Thursday, Saturday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
