Lyman Hall Advances To CIAC Division II Hockey Semifinals
The fourth-seeded Trojans advanced to a semifinal showdown with top-seeded Cheshire with a win over Guilford in the quarterfinals.
WALLINGFORD, CT — The fourth-seeded Lyman Hall hockey team advanced to the CIAC Division II semifinals with a 4-0 victory over No. 12 Guilford in the quarterfinals on Friday night at the Edward L. Bennett Rink in West Haven.
With the win, the Trojans will take on top-seeded Cheshire in the semifinals on Tuesday, March 17, at Quinnipiac University.
Liam Laffin scored two goals to lead Lyman Hall against Guilford, while JJ Laffin and George Porto each scored a goal apiece, according to the team’s account on X.

JJ Laffin and Porto also provided assists in the win.
Lyman Hall opened the tournament with a 7-4 victory over No. 13 Glastonbury on March 10.

The Trojans broke a 4-4 tie with three goals in the third period.
Liam Laffin recorded a hat trick by scoring his third goal of the game, unassisted, in the third period.
Porto also scored off an assist from AJ Capello in the third period, while also providing an assist on Nate D’Amico’s goal.
Lyman Hall started the game fast with four goals in the first period.
JJ Laffin scored off assists from D’Amico and Jason Bonarrigo and Liam Laffin scored an unassisted goal.
Liam Laffin and Nate Loesche both scored first-period goals off assists from Kellan Van Hennik.
The second-seeded East Haven co-op hockey team, which includes Sheehan, also advanced to the Division II semifinals with a 5-2 win over Farmington Valley on Friday night. The Yellowjackets will play No. 11 Conard on March 17 at Quinnipiac University.
