Lyman Hall Football Coach Fired Over Out-of-Season Practice

Rob Marone confirmed his ouster via email; school had been penalized for violating the CIAC rule prohibiting off-season practices.

Lyman Hall football coach Rob Marone has been fired for violating a CIAC rule prohibiting off-season practices, according to multiple reports.

Marone sent an email to SCC football coaches Wednesday confirming his ouster, according to GameTimeCT.com.

The Meriden Record-Journal reports that Lyman Hall principal David Bryant witnessed the out-of-season practice and reported it to the CIAC, which led to a $250 fine and one-year probation for the football team.

In his email to the SCC coaches, Marone said, “Lyman Hall has always been a very special place to me, and I’ve chased this dream of coaching at Lyman Hall since I began coaching freshman football there in 1998,” according to GameTimeCT.com.

Lyman Hall, which is 0-4 this season, was 2-22 under Marone.
