WALLINGFORD, CT — The Lyman Hall hockey team is heading to the CIAC Division II championship game.
The fourth-seeded Trojans eliminated top-seeded Cheshire with a 4-1 victory in the semifinals Tuesday night at Quinnipiac University.
After a scoreless first period, Cheshire took a 1-0 lead before George Porto responded with an unassisted goal with 9 minutes remaining in the second period.

Liam Laffin scored off an assist from AJ Capello to give Lyman Hall a 2-1 lead with 7 minutes, 7 seconds to go in the third period, according to the Lyman Hall Athletic Department’s account on X.
Porto scored another goal, this time off assists from Nate D’Amico and Gavin Gierla, to make it a 3-1 game.

JJ Laffin closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal to make it 4-1 with just over 2 minutes remaining.
Goaltender Owen Hamm finished with 27 saves for Lyman Hall.
Lyman Hall will take on No. 11 Conard in the championship game on Friday, March 20 at Quinnipiac University.
Conard beat the second-seeded East Haven co-op hockey team, which includes Sheehan, 2-0 in the other semifinal game on Tuesday.
